Large antique singing bowl, fundamental tone B. Joseph describes this singing bowl as a visually and sonically stunning antique singing bowl for someone who can appreciate the rare beauty. The bowl is from the high classical period, when the best large bowls were made about 400 years ago. The inscription is newer, several decades old at least, with a mix of sanskritic and roman characters, with an interesting backward S. The bowl itself is much older with gorgeous spotted patina and an amazing tone that rings for a minute and a half with a nice tap. The bowl is thin and lightweight, which deepens the tone and gives the vibration more variety. It requires a skillful touch to get the best sound. Overall excellent condition with typical signs of aging and stunning tone which makes it one of the best singing bowls available anywhere. .
